Canterbury Belles Training is committed to spreading the game of Rounders, and as such, is trying to promote all kinds of initiatives.

e.g.

Extended schools.

 Many parents, when questioned say they “loved the game” when they played. What’s stopping them now?? Rounders is a “cradle to grave" sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, most abilities, shapes  and sizes!

After school clubs.  

We have a database of qualified, experienced coaches who can come to a school on a sessional basis, as agreed. Prices start at £3 per child per hour (One session) all that is needed is a suitable playing area. We will supply the equipment!

Club links.  

What happens to children when they leave school? Wouldn’t it be great to set up an “Old pupils" team to keep in touch with your roots?

Canterbury Belles, the team, are now entering their seventh season, after starting a team from mums and ex pupils at St Thomas of Canterbury School in St Helens .

Star Centres.

Star Centres are centres of excellence in Rounders. They give high class support and coaching to talented pupils who are aiming to reach England standard.

Would you like help to set up a Star Centre in your area? You only need to ask.

Children’s parties with a difference!

Why not hire an NRA approved coach to help with your children’s’ birthday party with a game of Rounders? It would make a great fun way of helping your child enjoy a memorable party, interacting with adults, and having fun. We supply all the bats, balls, and posts. All you need is the location.

 Are you looking for new ways to raise staff morale, whilst having fun?

 Rounders is the answer!!

 In 2006 Knowsley Borough Council held an inter- departmental competition, with ten teams fighting it out in the blazing sunshine. Over 150 people had a great day of fun at their education training centre. David Hayes, Knowsley Schools Sports Manager said he hopes to make the fun day an annual event.

Residential Fun Weekends  

We have recently been able to offer sports breaks at Reaseheath College near Nantwich, which can cater for team building days (or weekends) at very reasonable rates. Facilities include indoor an outdoor sports areas, a nine hole golf course, restaurant, bar and club rooms. Rates depend on party sizes an duration of the stay. We can even transport you all together on a 53 seater coach, to ensure you arrive unstressed through no driving, ready to have fun in  sport.

Canterbury Belles Training does not have blinkers on! We know there are lots of other sports out there that people would like to know more about, and as such, keep in regular contact with coaches in other “fields” (excuse the pun). If we can help in any way, please ask.

Rounders in the National Curriculum

Hundreds of schools/ colleges play Rounders in P.E sessions. Canterbury Belles Training’s head coach tutor can arrange to oversee and/or coach in sessions.

We have lesson plans available to show teachers how rounders activities "fits in " with the National Curriculum.

 Sessions do not necessarily have to be outdoors. As long as you have a suitable, safe indoor venue, the game can be adapted, just as cricket has had to adapt to our wonderful climate.

 Why not play indoors during the winter?

Although Rounders is a summer sport, there is no reason why it cannot be played indoors all year round.

Why not check out the Taster Days with a view to playing in the winter?

 If a candidate has attended an NRA approved Award Training day, Canterbury Belles Training, by prior arrangement, come in to help with all the paperwork and practical assessments needed to complete the qualification. Canterbury Belles Training would love to see many more young coaches, perhaps trainee teachers or sports leader, promoting the game of Rounders, as fully qualified coaches at whatever level.
